Independent Living
Keep your independence. Lose the upkeep.
You still run your own day. You just stop running a household. No mowing, no gutters, no furnace to worry about in February, and no cooking unless you feel like it. What you gain back is time and neighbours.
Who it is for
Made for people who are still going strong
Independent Living at Autumn Ridge is for active seniors who do not need help with daily care and would rather not spend their retirement maintaining a building. Most of our residents drive, keep their own schedules, and come and go as they please.
The honest reason people move is rarely dramatic. Cooking for one gets old. The stairs get longer. The house gets quiet. Here you meet new friends, run into old neighbours from around Jefferson County, and have somewhere to be when you want it.
And if your needs change later, you do not have to move towns. Residential Care is in the same community, under the same roof.

Questions people actually ask about Independent Living
The apartments
Seven layouts to choose from
Studios for one, companion suites for two, and four one-bedroom layouts of increasing size. Which ones are open changes week to week, so the useful question is not what exists, it is what is free now.
This is true retirement, and this is the best place for me. I cannot think of a better place. I was exhausted from grass cutting, snow removal, and general maintenance. At Autumn Ridge, I trust I am in good hands. I have become healthier and can really relax.
