What it costs

One monthly rent. No entrance fee. No lease.

Senior living pricing has a reputation for being deliberately hard to pin down. Here is how ours is actually built, what moves the number, and how to get your number without surrendering your phone number first.

The structure

Three facts that do most of the work

$0

Entrance fee

There is no buy-in and no large upfront deposit to get in the door. Autumn Ridge is a rental community, not a purchase.
1

Monthly figure

Meals, utilities, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, transportation and activities are inside the rent, not billed alongside it.
30

Days at a time

The agreement is month to month. No lease, no year-long commitment, no penalty for deciding this is not the right fit.

What moves the number

Two things, and that is genuinely it

Your monthly rent depends on which apartment you take and which level of living you need. Nothing else is hiding behind it.

1. The apartment

A Studio Suite costs less than a One Bedroom Deluxe. Companion layouts, which are shared, are the lowest cost per person we offer.

2. The level of living

Independent Living covers the household. Residential Care adds nursing services, medication management and 24-hour associates, and costs more because it is more.

Why there is no price list on this page

Because a single advertised figure would be wrong for most of the people reading it, and a range wide enough to be true would be useless. What we can do is give you the real number for your situation in a couple of minutes, without a form and without a sales call first.

What does the house actually cost per month?

A paid-off home feels free. It is not. Put your own figures in below and see the monthly total you are already spending. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent anywhere, this runs entirely in your browser.

Paying for it

Where the money usually comes from

Most families use some combination of these. Very few use only one, and almost nobody knows about all of them before they start asking.

Income, savings and the house

Social security, pensions and retirement savings do the bulk of it for most residents. For homeowners, the proceeds from selling a house that was costing money to keep often changes the arithmetic entirely.

VA Aid and Attendance

An addition to a VA pension for veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily living. We help residents apply, and it goes uncollected far more often than it should.

How it works

Long-term care insurance

If a policy was bought years ago it may well cover residential care. Policies differ enormously. Bring yours and we will look at it with you rather than guessing.

Everything else

Medicaid, Medicare, life insurance conversions and family contributions all come up. What applies depends on the person and on the level of care, so ask about your specific situation rather than reading a general answer.

Straight answers

Cost questions we get asked constantly

Is there a deposit or a community fee to move in?

There is no buy-in or entrance fee of the kind you find at continuing care communities. Any move-in charges are small and are told to you upfront, in writing, before you sign anything.

Does the rent go up if care needs increase?

Moving from Independent Living to Residential Care changes what you receive, so it changes the rent. What it does not do is force a move to another building or another town. The change happens where you already live.

What is not included?

Phone service is the explicit exception to utilities. Beyond that, personal items, the beauty and barber shop services themselves, and anything you arrange privately are yours. Ask for the current list rather than assuming.

Two of us are moving in together. How does that work?

Couples share an apartment and there is a second-person rate rather than two full rents. Companion layouts are built for sharing and are the lowest cost per person we offer.

Can we leave if it does not work out?

Yes. The agreement is month to month with no lease. That is unusual in this industry and it is deliberate, because the alternative is asking people to bet a year on a decision made under pressure.

Ask us anything

You should not have to fill in a form to get an answer

Our assistant answers questions about apartments, costs, care levels and availability in plain language, at any hour, without asking for your phone number first. When you are ready to see the place, it will set up the visit.

My mother needs help with her medications. Is that something you do?

Yes. That falls under our Residential Care level, which is state licensed and includes medication management along with 24-hour associates on site. Would it help if I walked you through what changes between Independent Living and Residential Care?

Yes, and what does it cost?

A real exchange pattern. Ask your own above.
